Chiropractic Therapy

What is Chiropractic Therapy?
Chiropractic therapy is a form of therapy where hands are used to manipulate the spine as well as other parts of the body. It is also used to help joint mobilization. Chiropractic therapy is used to treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, neuropathy, and sciatica, among other conditions.
Chiropractic therapies are used to improve the overall health of patients. The core of chiropractic therapy can also involve treatments with spinal manipulation. This treatment allows us to use high-velocity, short lever arm thrust in order to improve functionality, reduce nerve irritability and restore range of motion in the back.
Chiropractic treatment is used primarily as an alternative form of prescription for pain relief. It avoids the use of pharmaceuticals and focuses on treating the muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, in a manual way. It can and is sometimes also used alongside conventional medical treatment.

Spinal Decompression

What is spinal decompression?
Spinal decompression, more commonly known as spinal manipulation, is a technique where a chiropractor or physical therapist applies controlled thrust on a joint of the spine. The amount of force necessary depends on the manipulation used.

Chiropractors use spinal manipulation to help reduce pain in parts of the body as well as improve joint mobility. Spinal manipulation is also used to treat spine-related conditions such as headaches, neck or low back pain, sciatica, and disc herniations. It can also be use to aid in arthritis treatments.
We use a patented FDA-cleared therapy traction device. This tool allows our chiropractic doctor to gently, safely and precisely put tension on the neck and lower back to create the negative pressure needed inside the spinal disc. This treatment takes about 15 minutes and is generally painless.

Cold Laser Therapy

How does cold laser therapy work?
Cold laser therapy is a low-intensity laser therapy used to stimulate healing using low levels of light. In the procedure, different wavelengths and outputs of low-level light are applied directly onto the desired area. The absorption of the light promotes regeneration of the damaged cells.
Cold laser therapy is used in sports medicine and physical therapy practices to treat minor injuries and sprains. It is also used to help reduce inflammation or swelling, and promote wound healing. Cold laser therapy as a treatment is growing in traditional medical practice and as a complementary or alternative therapy.
what we offer

Stretch & Exercise Therapies

Why is it good to stretch & exercise?
Having a healthy spine is more than just visiting your chiropractor every once in a while. The human body was meant to move constantly. Yet we've become very sedentary. This has painful consequences on our body, but especially our backs!
While exercising regularly is difficult for many people to add onto their busy schedule, doing quick at-home workouts and stretches can help the overall health of the spine. We recommend trying to either do a quick at-home workout daily, or if that's too difficult, try stretching once a day for 10 minutes.
When you come to Carswell CAPC for chiropractic care, we share with you some stretches and quick workouts that you can easily incorporate into your busy day. Our goal is to keep you healthy and pain free for as long as possible without having to come to us constantly!

Lifestyle Modification

Why should my lifestyle change?
Even though physical chiropractic care can help with pain management and realignment, it is still important to incorporate lifestyle changes. Lifestyle changes can allow you to stay healthy and avoid coming for physical care constantly.
Nowadays, people have started to recognize that their lifestyle plays a significant role in their overall health. Diet, exercise, and other habits can help promote a healthy spine. This is important to keep in mind, now more than ever.
We spend most of our time working on the computer, which can lead to bad posture. This can snowball into back and neck pain, among other issues.
Here at Carswell CAPC we want to teach and a promote healthier lifestyle approach in order to prevent pain from forming.
We give chiropractic care that allows you to care for yourself. Ready to let the pain go? Schedule a visit with us today!

Great visit. It was my first time at a chiropractor. Dr Carswell was very informative and nice and guided me through every step. The wait time was short. The offices we clean and the staff was kind. Definitely worth going to if your looking for a chiropractor.

I’ve never had chiropractic care before but I’m really getting better after each visit. She's always ready to answer questions, explain the causes of pain and provide some exercises.

Zahrah A.

Great experience! I got much better after my first visit and it was the first time I got a call from a Doctor the next day following up on my condition. I had shoulder pain for the past 3 months and after being treated by Dr. Tonya I see the pain going away.
