Cupping is an ancient medical procedure that relies upon a partial vacuum which is created in cups placed on the skin by means of suction and decompression of the skin and underlying fascia. This therapy is performed with or without movement to create both internal and external gliding of tissues. The localized vacuum mobilizes blood flow which allows drainage of the lymphatic system allowing stagnate blood to clear through veins, arteries and capillaries.
Cupping can be an effective treatment for both acute and chronic pain conditions. Some conditions include but not limited to:
